My name is Jay Wayne, and beauty has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up surrounded by the world of hair and beauty, watching my Mother help to build and grow a successful salon in the Washington, D.C. area. From those early years, I learned that great hair is about so much more than how you look in the mirror. It’s about confidence, self-expression, and most importantly, feeling seen.

My own journey has taken me far beyond the salon chair. As a professional dancer and performer, I spent years working on Broadway, in music videos and commercials, and even as part of the original cast at Tokyo DisneySea. Those experiences taught me the value of creativity, attention to detail, and the transformative power of helping someone feel their absolute best. Eventually, I found my way back to where it all began, behind the chair.

Today, I’m proud to have created my own private salon in Melbourne, Florida, just outside the Eau Gallie Arts District. I’ve built a space that feels personal, welcoming, and completely my own. My goal is to create an experience where you can slow down, relax, recharge, and leave feeling like the very best version of yourself. Whether you’re looking for a fresh new cut, dimensional blonding, lived-in color, or a complete hair transformation, every appointment is customized around you.

I’m passionate about continuing to learn and evolve as a stylist. Through ongoing education, I stay current with the latest techniques, trends, and innovations in cutting and color, while always keeping the focus on what works best for the individual sitting in my chair. I believe great hair shouldn’t simply follow a trend, it should reflect who you are, your lifestyle, and where you’re going.

I specialize in blonding, lived-in color, and creating effortlessly beautiful hair that grows out beautifully and works with your lifestyle. But above all, I specialize in listening. Every client has a unique story, and I believe the best hair happens when we take the time to understand yours.

After decades in an industry I’ve loved my entire life, one thing hasn’t changed: I still love making people feel good about themselves. Because when you leave my chair feeling confident, radiant, and completely yourself, that’s when I know I’ve done my job.

If you’re ready for a fresh new look, a little confidence boost, or simply a refreshed version of you, I’d love to welcome you into my chair!

Growing Relationships..

It can sometimes take time to truly build a relationship with your hairstylist—someone who not only knows your hair, but also understands you. Over time, a great stylist learns your wants, your needs, your lifestyle, and even the little details like how much time you realistically want to spend styling your hair each day. They also come to understand the things you absolutely love… and the things you definitely don’t.

For me, that relationship is one of the most important parts of what I do, and I take pride in building that trust quickly. From the moment you sit in my chair, my goal is to listen carefully, ask the right questions, and really get a feel for your vision. I want you to feel heard, understood, and excited about what’s possible.

If you have a look you’ve been dreaming about but aren’t quite sure how to achieve, that’s where I come in. Together, we can create a plan that works for your lifestyle, your maintenance preferences, and your long-term hair goals. Sometimes it’s about taking big steps, and other times it’s about gradually working toward that perfect look—but either way, you’ll never be on the journey alone.

I’m here not just to do your hair, but to guide you, inspire you, and help you discover the version of yourself that feels most confident and authentic. So stick with me, and let’s bring your hair dreams to life—one appointment at a time.

Why am I called JW Lifestyling?

My vision for JW Lifestyling has always been to create something that goes beyond the traditional salon experience. I’m building a space where hair, design, creativity, and the things that make everyday life a little more beautiful can all come together.

The “lifestyling” side of the business is an extension of that philosophy. I love discovering unique pieces and giving beautiful things a new life, whether it’s vintage and upcycled furniture, clothing, candles, handmade goods, or those completely unexpected finds that you simply can’t leave behind. Everything is thoughtfully chosen to create a space that feels collected, creative, and distinctly personal.

For me, beauty has never been limited to what happens in front of the mirror. It’s about how we express ourselves, how we surround ourselves, and ultimately, how we feel in our everyday lives.

JW Lifestyling is my way of bringing all of that together, creating a place where you can come for great hair, discover something unexpected, and leave feeling inspired.
